ODMH Seeking Input on Client Rights Bill of Rights
ODMH is seeking input on combining four different sets of client rights. Please complete our survey (Word, 116 KB) by August 15, 2008 and share it with people who are receiving mental health services, their family members and advocates. Client Rights Grievance/Complaint Annual Summary
All ADAMH/CMH Boards must submit a completed Client Rights Grievance/Complaint Annual Summary to ODMH by September 2, 2008. This is required by Ohio Administrative Code 5122:2-1-02 (G), (H) and (I). The letter and form sent to all Boards is posted on the Client Rights and Advocacy page.

Policy Statement on Common Sense Business Regulation
In accordance with Executive Order 2008-04S and House Bill 285, ODMH has developed a policy statement on Common Sense Business Regulation (PDF, 8 KB).

Adult Care Facilities Awards Announced
ODMH has awarded funds to assist operators of existing licensed Adult Care Facilities (ACFs) serving a significant percentage of persons with severe and persistent mental illness with facility environmental expenses and improvements. Medical Director Encourages Awareness of Heat Related Illness
The ODMH Medical Director has published a letter (PDF, 25 KB) encouraging caregivers to review the pamphlet titled, "Heat related Illness in Psychotropic Medication Users" (PDF, 36 KB). The pamphlet provides information for caregivers and consumers about the risks of heat related illness and prevention during times of high heat and humidity.

Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Services Report
"Recommendations to improve access to child and adolescent psychiatric services in Ohio: A report by the Statewide Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Services Action Task Force" (PDF, 5.82 MB) describes a process to help local communities improve the availability of psychiatric services and ensure that needed professionals are in place. Plans are underway to integrate this critical strategy as part of transformational activities designed to improve the mental health workforce.
