System Transformation
Ohio’s mental health system is engaging in various activities to transform itself into a cohesive, accessible and effective system of care for all who enter it so that they can live, work, learn and participate fully in their communities.
System Finance Reform
Ohio’s county commissioners and representatives from various state agencies and advocacy organizations are developing a sustainable financing model for the behavioral health system based upon a shared set of principles that support a consumer focus.
Transformation State Incentive Grant (TSIG)
As one of seven states receiving federal funding, Ohio serves as a platform for learning what strategies and activities hold the most promise for transforming mental health systems.
Transformation State Incentive Grant (TSIG) Working Group
Established as part of the Transformation State Incentive Grant, this multi-agency group examines and improves the approach to care across many areas of government that touch the lives of people with mental illness and their families.
Capital Planning and Management
This office oversees and manages the building of and improvements to the regional psychiatric hospitals operated by ODMH. Since ODMH is committed to providing therapeutically appropriate treatment environments, the goal is to provide patient care environments with ample space for services that enhance recovery, as well as patient living areas that afford dignity, privacy and safety.
Research and Evaluation
Not only does ODMH conduct research and evaluation about key mental health program and policy issues, but we also disseminate a number of publications, reports and bulletins that provide information and findings from this work We also disseminate information from research studies funded through our Research Grants Program.
