System Finance Reform
The existing models for financing the behavioral health system do not necessarily reflect a focus on consumer needs and choices nor do they reflect current system structure (community rather than institutionally based). To address this issue, a comprehensive and diverse set of stakeholders in the behavioral health system formed the Systems Finance Principles & Process Team to develop a sustainable financing model for the behavioral health system based upon a shared set of principles that supports a consumer focus.
