Information For Family Members and Visitors

Admission
Local mental health centers  refer patients to Twin Valley Behavioral Healthcare by determining whether someone meets criteria for admission. Various court systems across Ohio also refer forensic patients for admission. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide service for direct admissions or "walk-ins." Please contact your local mental health center for assistance.

Services provided
We provide recovery-based, comprehensive, quality, cost-effective mental health services to adults with severe mental illness. We have found that family involvement with the patient's treatment team, as well as other contacts, are very important and can greatly facilitate recovery.

Family and Visitors
Family and visitors may bring items such as personal hygiene items, batteries, electric shavers, mail, food to be eaten during visit (not permitted at Timothy B. Moritz Forensic Unit) and non-caffeinated soft drinks in plastic bottles. All items will be inspected by the police officer at the visitor's desk upon arrival. Check with staff on the patient's unit before bringing other items. Please contact the social worker assigned to your family member's treatment team with any additional questions.
